Tour Description
The mangroves in Cartagena are a unique ecosystem located in the bay of Cartagena, in La Boquilla neighborhood, which is on the outskirts of the city. These are a series of winding channels and waterways surrounded by dense vegetation, and are home to a wide variety of plant and animal species.
During the tour, you will get to explore the mangroves on a canoe. This way, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the ecosystem and appreciate the breathtaking views. You will also have a chance to learn about the importance of mangroves and their role in the environment.
This is an incredible experience for those who love nature and unique landscapes. As you venture into this coastal ecosystem, you will be surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, including various species of birds, crabs, and even fish. The mangroves in Cartagena are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, which makes this a great destination for nature enthusiasts.
We will be breathing 100% oxygen and enjoying zero noise pollution. We’ll visit the Ciénaga de la Virgen, the mouth of the mouthpiece where the marsh and the sea meet, the Bajamar area, and the Juan Polo Arm. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a short fishing show performed by the locals themselves.

- Mosquito repellent. You’ll be surrounded by water and trees, so there are chances mosquitos will be in the area.
- Don’t take single use plastic. Admission may be compromised if you take them to the mangroves.
- Sunscreen. Even though we’ll be deep in nature, sunlight will still get through, and your skin could be harmed.
